Montpelier's Growth Center 
Montpelier is seeking state approval of a significant growth center, and it could be the city's most rewarding economic development initiative in decades.

As important as downtown designation was several years ago, Montpelier has had limited opportunities to capitalize on downtown incentives. There are few places to develop in the designated downtown, and most would require removal of historic buildings. That makes development expensive and controversial. More...
ACCD: The Endangered Agency
The Agency of Commerce and Community Development has been targeted as a "budget balancing" project. At first glance, the consolidation, elimination and privatization of the departments could save money.
