The hope of Humble Abode is to create timber frames in such a way that we please our clients, enjoy our work, and leave our planet a healthier and more beautiful place. We work toward that end by using lumber native to our region, designing for quality rather than quantity, and seeking out appropriate materials and techniques. Whether it is a naturally forked tree scribed into a porch, a straw clay wall with earth plaster, or a beam finished with a hand plane instead of a belt sander, we strive to bring soul, beauty and function to our work.

Josh designed and built almost every part of this timber framed home for and with his parents. The frame includes thirty-one structural forks and second floor log joists from trees felled by his brother and father on the property. for more detailed information visit the Humble Abode website.
